About Me
My name is Yilang Zhang. A fun fact about me is that I chose my English name, Ethan, because of my favorite movie – Mission Impossible. Like the other Ethan, I believe that nothing is actually impossible when people are focused on the mission of making positive social and political contributions to the community.
Non-Profit Company
I created a non-profit company - Green Horizon Synergy. It is dedicated to improving the community and the environment through the Green Earth Movement. The U.S. produces a significant amount of waste – about 292.4 million tons annually, or 4.9 pounds per person daily – despite only comprising 4% of the global population. I aim to reduce daily waste and eliminate existing pollution by promoting sustainable clothing made from eco-friendly materials.
Furthermore, my innovative designs, such as jackets with built-in heating and cooling pads, reduce the need for multiple purchases and help minimize pollution caused by clothing production. Also, I host weekly beach cleanups in areas like San Diego and Huntington Beach, encouraging community involvement. Each of the participants in these cleanups receives a free Green Horizon Synergy T-shirt as a token of appreciation for helping to make the Earth cleaner and greener.
